Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal has strongly criticized the former RJD-led government for mishandling flood relief funds, alleging that ₹200 crore allocated 15 years ago for the Mahananda Basin Project remains unaccounted for. He stated that due to this mismanagement, recurring floods continue to devastate the state.

Jaiswal highlighted the Modi government’s recent initiative, the ₹11,000 crore Kosi-Mechi Link Project, which aims to provide irrigation benefits to farmers and offer a long-term solution to flood management.

🔹 Jaiswal’s Allegations:

  • ₹200 crore allocated for flood relief remains missing.
  • The Mahananda Basin Project was never properly implemented.
  • Bihar continues to suffer from recurrent floods due to past government failures.

🗣️ Jaiswal’s Statement:
“Fifteen years ago, funds were allocated for flood relief, but nobody knows where the ₹200 crore went. People continued to suffer from floods as a result.”

Praise for Kosi-Mechi Link Project

Jaiswal applauded the central government for investing ₹11,000 crore in the Kosi-Mechi Link Project, which is expected to:

✔️ Utilize floodwater for irrigation, improving agriculture in Bihar.
