BJP Unveils ‘Sankalp Patra’ For Delhi Elections With Promises On Healthcare, Women Empowerment, And Welfare

New Delhi [India]: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra,’ for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. The document emphasizes improving healthcare, empowering women, supporting senior citizens, and enhancing access to essential services.

BJP National President and Union Minister JP Nadda launched the manifesto on Friday, pledging to roll out new schemes and enhance existing ones to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for Delhi residents.

Among the key proposals, the BJP announced welfare measures for women, including the provision of six nutritional kits and ₹21,000 in financial assistance under the Matritva Suraksha Yojana to support pregnant women. Additionally, the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana proposes a monthly financial aid of ₹2,500 for women to enhance their economic independence.

For low-income households, the party promised to offer LPG cylinders at ₹500 and one free cylinder each during Holi and Deepawali.

On healthcare, the BJP committed to implementing the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Delhi, offering free treatment up to ₹5 lakh per family. Furthermore, the state government would add another ₹5 lakh cover for low-income families, ensuring comprehensive medical care.

Senior citizens are a significant focus of the manifesto. The BJP pledged free outpatient and diagnostic services for individuals aged 70 and above, an increased health cover of ₹10 lakh, and an enhanced pension for senior citizens aged 60-70 from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500. Those aged above 70, including widows, specially-abled individuals, and destitute persons, would receive ₹3,000.

To address food security in underserved areas, the manifesto proposes the launch of Atal Canteens in JJ clusters, where nutritious meals would be available for ₹5.

The BJP reassured voters that it would continue existing welfare programs while improving their efficiency and transparency, vowing to eliminate corruption.

JP Nadda described the manifesto as a “foundation for a developed Delhi,” promising to implement Ayushman Bharat for 51 lakh residents in the party’s first cabinet meeting if elected.

Speaking at the launch, Nadda said, “After forming the government in Delhi, we will implement the Central government’s Ayushman Bharat for 51 lakh people, who were deprived of its benefits under AAP, in the first Cabinet meeting. Besides, we will provide an additional cover of ₹5 lakh.”

He further criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for alleged corruption in its flagship Mohalla Clinics and other unfulfilled promises. “Their Mohalla clinic is a den of corruption and a program to hoodwink people. Fraud lab tests and a ₹300 crore scam have occurred in these clinics. When our government comes, all this will be thoroughly investigated,” Nadda alleged.

Highlighting AAP’s failed promises, Nadda said, “AAPda’s track record is clear. They promised ₹2,100 per month in 2021 but failed to deliver it in Delhi or Punjab. Similarly, in 2024, they promised ₹1,000 per month but did not fulfill it.”

The Delhi assembly elections will take place in a single phase on February 5, with results declared on February 8. A three-way contest is expected among the ruling AAP, BJP, and Congress.
