BJP To Present CAG Report In Delhi Assembly On February 25, Alleges Corruption By AAP

New Delhi [India], February 23: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to table the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) report in the Delhi Assembly on February 25, which allegedly highlights corruption during the tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), according to BJP MLA Harish Khurana.

Khurana expressed confidence that the tabling of the report would expose various irregularities, including issues related to the excise policy, the renovation of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence (referred to as “Sheesh Mahal” by the BJP), and discrepancies in education policies.

“The report will be tabled in the House and many things will come to light. I think the truth will come out in the CAG report. Whether it is education, liquor, or Sheesh Mahal, many such issues will be raised in the House,” Khurana told ANI.

The first day of the Delhi Assembly will take place on February 24, during which all MLAs will be sworn in and a new Speaker will be elected. BJP MLA Khurana criticized the AAP for failing to table the CAG report during its tenure, adding that the BJP-led government will now work “as per rules, as per the Constitution.”

“The 8th assembly formed yesterday and its first session will begin tomorrow with the oath of the MLAs and the election of the Speaker, and the next day the CAG report will be tabled. This report should have been tabled in the 7th Assembly, as per the rules. But now whatever work the Delhi government will do will be done as per the rules, as per the Constitution,” Khurana said.

In response, AAP’s national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar criticized the BJP, questioning its commitment to its promises, particularly the Rs 2,500 financial assistance scheme for women in Delhi.

“BJP should display optimistic politics. They should work on the promises they made to the people of Delhi instead of imposing their agenda. They said that in the first cabinet meeting, a resolution would be passed that every woman in Delhi would get Rs 2,500 per month in her account,” Kakkar said.

Kakkar also reminded the BJP of AAP’s commitment to fulfilling their promises, noting that when AAP came to power, they delivered on their commitments in the very first cabinet meeting.
