Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 13: Karnataka Leader of Opposition and BJP leader R Ashoka announced that a Tiranga Yatra will be held in Bengaluru on May 15, as part of a nationwide campaign in support of Operation Sindoor and to honour India’s armed forces.
Addressing the media, Ashoka emphasized the non-political nature of the campaign, encouraging widespread public participation.
“To show our support for Operation Sindoor and our armed forces, we are organizing a Tiranga Yatra across Karnataka. The Bengaluru event will be held on May 15, followed by similar yatras across the state for a week. This is a non-political event — all people should take part,” he said.
The BJP-led Tiranga Yatra is being organized nationwide from May 13 to May 23, sources confirmed. Key BJP figures, including Sambit Patra, Vinod Tawde, and Tarun Chugh, are coordinating the campaign. Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states, and senior leaders will lead processions across various states.
The campaign will also involve ex-servicemen, social workers, and influential public figures to broaden its appeal and reach.
As part of the initiative, the party will:
- Conduct press conferences across India
- Engage social media influencers to amplify messaging
- Raise awareness about Operation Sindoor and its national security significance
About Operation Sindoor
Launched on May 7, Operation Sindoor was India’s retaliatory response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 tourists were killed. The mission targeted multiple terror camps and military sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (PoK).
The coordinated air, land, and sea strikes reportedly neutralized over 100 terrorists, damaged 11 Pakistani air bases, and were executed with calibrated restraint to minimize civilian harm.
The Tiranga Yatra aims to instill national pride and spread awareness of the operation’s strategic success and broader implications for India’s sovereignty and defense preparedness.
