BJP Spokesperson CR Keshavan Slams DMK Over Opposition To Three-Language Policy And Delimitation

New Delhi [India], March 3 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson CR Keshavan on Monday criticized the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for opposing the central government’s three-language policy and constituency delimitation, calling the party’s actions a “desperate and dishonest diversionary drama.”

Keshavan also questioned DMK’s stance in relation to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s slogan of “Jitni Abadi, Utna Haq” (Rights Proportionate to Population), suggesting that DMK’s opposition contradicts Gandhi’s call for equitable rights. “Does the DMK, which is engaging in desperate and dishonest diversionary drama, have the courage to question Rahul Gandhi and seek an explanation on his call for ‘Jitni Abadi, Utna Haq’?” Keshavan asked. He argued that Gandhi’s slogan was at odds with DMK’s claims, implying the party was attempting to divert attention from its governance shortcomings.

Keshavan further stated that the DMK was “trying to divert attention from the gross mismanagement, misrule, and misgovernance” in the state.

Earlier in the day, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin issued a stern warning against the central government’s alleged attempts to impose Hindi in Tamil Nadu. Stalin reiterated that the state’s Chief Minister, MK Stalin, had made it clear that Tamil Nadu rejects the National Education Policy (NEP), delimitation, and Hindi imposition.

“The Tamil Nadu CM is the person who has brought the Metro Railway project to Chennai. He said three things recently: we don’t accept NEP, we won’t accept delimitation, and we won’t accept Hindi imposition. Today, the Centre is trying to impose Hindi sideways through the NEP,” Stalin remarked. He also emphasized that the DMK, under the leadership of MK Stalin, would not be intimidated by threats from the central government.

The Tamil Nadu government has strongly opposed the implementation of the NEP, especially its “three-language formula,” which the state claims would impose Hindi. Stalin has criticized the policy for withholding the state’s funds and warned that delimitation could reduce Tamil Nadu’s political representation.
