BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri Slams AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal Over Allegations And Court Apologies

BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri has criticized AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of hypocrisy and making baseless allegations only to later apologize in court. Bidhuri highlighted several legal cases against Kejriwal, emphasizing that the Delhi Chief Minister has repeatedly apologized in court for his remarks. “There have been dozens of cases against Arvind Kejriwal. He has apologized in court multiple times. He makes baseless allegations day and night and then apologizes in court,” he told.

Bidhuri also called for strict action against anyone violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), regardless of their political affiliation. He specifically mentioned Atishi’s personal assistant and others who might breach the code, stressing that action should be taken against them.

Earlier on Tuesday, Kejriwal found himself embroiled in controversy after police filed a case against him over remarks accusing the Haryana government of “poisoning” the Yamuna River. A case was registered under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Samhita (BNS), 2024, following the court’s direction.

Meanwhile, polling for the 70 Delhi assembly seats began on Wednesday morning, along with by-polls for two seats in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Voting commenced at 7 am amidst tight security, though the turnout initially appeared slow. By 11 am, a voter turnout of 19.95 percent had been recorded, with North East district seeing the highest turnout at 24.87 percent, followed by Shahdara at 23.30 percent. The lowest turnout of 16.46 percent was reported in the Central district.

In Delhi, prominent constituencies such as New Delhi, Jangpura, Kalkaji, and Okhla are witnessing high-profile contests. The New Delhi seat is particularly competitive, with Kejriwal facing BJP’s Parvesh Verma and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit. Congress, which once dominated Delhi for 15 years, is hoping for a comeback after failing to secure a seat in the last two elections.

AAP, which currently holds more than 60 of the 70 assembly seats, is aiming for re-election based on its achievements. The counting of votes will take place on February 8.
