BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi Joins All-Party Delegation In Japan To Highlight India’s Stand On Terrorism Under ‘Operation Sindoor’

Tokyo: BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, a member of the all-party parliamentary delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, expressed confidence in the success of the group’s visit to Japan, saying the series of meetings planned with top Japanese officials would be “very fruitful.” The visit forms part of ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s global outreach initiative to highlight its stand against terrorism following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Upon arriving in Tokyo on Thursday, the delegation met with Indian Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, at the Embassy of India, where they were briefed about Japan’s stance on regional security issues and its response to the Pahalgam attack.

“We had a very good dialogue with Ambassador Sibi George and his team,” Sarangi told media. “We wanted to understand many things about Japan and their viewpoint on the Pahalgam massacre. I’m very optimistic and confident that our meetings with Japanese officials will be very productive.”

Delegation’s Mission: Expose State-Sponsored Terrorism

The Operation Sindoor delegation includes a cross-section of Indian political representation:

  • JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha (Leader)
  • BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Dr Hemang Joshi, Brij Lal, and Pradan Baruah
  • CPI(M) MP John Brittas
  • TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee
  • Former diplomat Ambassador Mohan Kumar

Their collective goal: to expose Pakistan’s role in state-sponsored terrorism and highlight India’s firm military response to the Pahalgam attack.

Before departing for the mission, Sanjay Jha emphasized that terrorism is Pakistan’s official policy, and the international community needs to recognize this.

“We want to reveal Pakistan’s face to the entire world. The whole state of Pakistan sponsors terrorism… We are here to say, ‘Enough is enough,’” said Jha.

India’s Diplomatic and Military Response: Operation Sindoor

India launched Operation Sindoor in the wake of the April 22 terrorist ambush in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which resulted in multiple casualties.
The Indian Armed Forces carried out precision strikes on terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK), and responded firmly to Pakistani military provocation that followed.

After a series of escalations, a temporary halt to military operations was agreed upon following a direct communication between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of both countries.

Embassy Briefing and Next Steps in Japan

The Indian Embassy in Tokyo acknowledged the strategic importance of this visit. In a post on X, the mission stated:

“All-Party Parliamentary Delegation was briefed by Ambassador @AmbSibiGeorge on Japan-specific approach to engagements, setting the context for a strong messaging of India’s fight against terrorism.”

Over the next few days, the delegation is scheduled to meet with senior Japanese government officials, including the Foreign Minister or Deputy Minister, to build support for India’s stance on cross-border terrorism.

Broader Outreach Plan

Following Japan, the Operation Sindoor delegation will travel to Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore, continuing India’s diplomatic offensive to raise global awareness about state-sponsored terrorism and reinforce India’s image as a victim of aggression, not an aggressor.

The mission reflects a rare political consensus in India on foreign policy matters, with members from BJP, JD(U), TMC, CPI(M) and former diplomats jointly advocating the country’s interests on the global stage.
