New Delhi [India], March 27: BJP MLA Shikha Rai has criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over its previous budgets, calling them “superficial,” while praising the newly presented Delhi budget as detailed and transformative.
Rai stated, “Their (AAP) budgets were superficial… Ours is a comprehensive and complete budget, which addresses even the smallest issues and every community in Delhi. Through this budget, Delhi will witness a huge transformation within a year.”
Meanwhile, the Delhi Assembly continues to see heated exchanges over the tabling of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports. Leader of Opposition (LoP) Atishi questioned why all 14 CAG reports were not being presented in the House and urged the Speaker to table the remaining 11 reports in the ongoing session.
Responding to Atishi’s claims, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood defended the delay, stating that the reports are extensive and require time for proper analysis. He further alleged that the reports would expose corruption within AAP. “CAG reports are voluminous, and understanding them takes time. Atishi seems to be in a hurry. But why were these reports stopped earlier? What conspiracy was behind that? Every report will be discussed, and every corruption will be exposed,” Sood told.
Atishi also pointed out that the High Court had earlier ordered all CAG reports to be tabled promptly. She criticized the BJP for not adhering to the court’s directive and called for the immediate presentation of the remaining reports.
The ongoing budget session has seen sharp exchanges between the ruling BJP and the AAP, with discussions revolving around governance, financial transparency, and past inefficiencies.
