BJP Leader Rahul Sinha Calls For Removal Of TMC Government In West Bengal

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], March 2: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rahul Sinha on Saturday urged the people of West Bengal to remove the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government from the state, accusing the ruling party of promoting violence and chaos.

In an exclusive statement to ANI, Sinha remarked, “The leftists have been wiped out from the entire Bengal. Those who remain have taken refuge in Jadavpur University.” He further criticized TMC for allegedly fostering a climate of violence, particularly highlighting recent incidents at Jadavpur University.

Sinha pointed out, “TMC always spreads violence. Action should be taken against the students involved in this incident.” He also raised concerns about the TMC’s past support for left-wing students involved in violent protests, citing the attack on the Governor, which he said was supported by TMC and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

He went on to assert, “The Communist Party of India (Marxist) is anti-West Bengal. We urge the people to wipe out TMC just as they have wiped out the Communist Party of India (Marxist) from West Bengal.”

This statement came after TMC accused the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) of attacking West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu at Jadavpur University earlier in the day. Basu was at the university to attend an annual meeting of the West Bengal College and University Professors Association (WBCUPA) when the attack occurred. The visuals of the minister’s car showed a damaged windscreen, leading TMC leaders to blame SFI members for the assault and vandalism.

TMC leader Saayoni Ghosh condemned the attack and demanded accountability. “Today, the West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu was attacked at Jadavpur University earlier today. We are here to condemn this,” she said. Ghosh also expressed concern over the protests that prevented Basu from leaving the area, stating, “The education minister and the Trinamool-supporting professors have shown restraint. But those who committed the attacks and chaos need a proper democratic response.”

The TMC has called for identifying those responsible for the attack and taking appropriate action.
