Hyderabad (Telangana), February 13: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prakash Reddy has expressed his optimism regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States. Reddy praised the upcoming meeting between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump, hoping that it would further strengthen the bilateral relationship between India and the US.
Reddy highlighted that the discussions between the two leaders are expected to address global issues, particularly the Ukraine-Russia conflict and the Israel-Gaza situation. He expressed confidence that their talks would lead to solutions for these ongoing challenges.
“I hope the meeting between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump will boost the bilateral relationship of the US and India. The meeting between the chiefs of the two countries will give solutions to the issues faced by the people in different parts of the globe, particularly the Ukraine-Russia War and the Israel-Gaza issue… I hope this meeting will give good solutions to all these issues,” said Reddy.
Earlier, PM Modi arrived in the US on Wednesday evening (local time) at the invitation of President Trump. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by India’s Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, along with other officials at Joint Base Andrews in Washington, D.C.
This marks PM Modi’s first visit to the United States since Donald Trump assumed office for his second term. After landing, PM Modi went to Blair House, where members of the Indian diaspora had gathered to greet him. The diaspora chanted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Modi Modi” as they welcomed him. PM Modi expressed his gratitude for the warm reception.
As a symbolic gesture of the importance of the visit, the US flag at the Blair House was replaced with the Indian flag before PM Modi’s arrival.
During the visit, PM Modi will stay at Blair House from February 12-13. Since November 2024, PM Modi and Trump have had two phone conversations, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar attended the inauguration ceremony of President Trump. Jaishankar also participated in the QUAD Foreign Ministers’ meeting in January 2025, where he met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
