BJP Leader Dushyant Gautam Responds To AAP MLA Atishi’s Remarks On Women’s Financial Assistance

New Delhi [India], February 21: BJP National General Secretary Dushyant Gautam responded to AAP MLA Atishi’s remarks on Friday, asserting that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the promised financial assistance for women would soon reach their bank accounts.

Gautam criticized Atishi, stating, “If Atishi had been truly concerned, the women of Punjab would not have been waiting for the last three years.” He added, “Atishi is not worried about whether the money is deposited in the accounts of women or not. Under the leadership of Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, the amount will soon reach the women’s bank accounts.”

Gautam also referred to the upcoming Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, which he said would be tabled, and emphasized that “anyone who has looted the nation will not be spared,” quoting Prime Minister Modi’s stance on the matter.

Earlier, on Thursday, former Delhi CM and AAP leader Atishi had criticized the BJP government and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for not approving the proposal to provide Rs 2,500 financial assistance to women in Delhi in its first cabinet meeting, as promised during the election campaign. Atishi accused the BJP of breaking its promises and claimed the party had decided to deceive the people of Delhi.

In a video message, Atishi said, “BJP had promised the women of Delhi that in the first cabinet meeting itself, they would pass the scheme for women to receive Rs 2,500. After the oath-taking, the first cabinet meeting took place at 7 pm, and all the women of Delhi were waiting for the scheme to be passed… Instead, BJP started breaking their promises on day one.”

In response, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who chaired the first cabinet meeting, announced that her government would implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme with a Rs 5 lakh top-up and present the 14 pending CAG reports in the first Assembly sitting.
