BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh took a sharp dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday, claiming that there is a split within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections. Vallabh accused the party of internal factions and alleged that Chief Minister Atishi is no longer listening to Kejriwal.
Alleged Split Within AAP
Vallabh claimed that AAP is divided into several factions led by Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi, Sanjay Singh, and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He stated that, “These days CM Atishi is not listening to Arvind Kejriwal. On one hand, Kejriwal is announcing welfare schemes, but on the other side, Atishi is saying there are no such welfare schemes.”
Vallabh also speculated that the AAP could face a split before the upcoming Delhi elections, with one faction aligning with Kejriwal and another with Atishi. “I think there is a split in the party. One faction is with Arvind Kejriwal and the other faction is with Chief Minister Atishi,” he said.
Corruption Allegations and Name Change Suggestion
Shifting his focus to the Delhi government’s liquor policies, Vallabh accused Kejriwal and his government of indulging in corruption related to the liquor trade. He suggested that the AAP should change its name to “Daru Premi Party,” implying that the party is deeply involved in corruption.
“I want to tell one thing to Kejriwal Ji and the Delhi government that in the last three general (Lok Sabha) elections, BJP has won all 7 seats. Kejriwal ji, even when you were in jail on liquor charges, the elected representatives of the BJP were working for the people of Delhi. You and your government have done only one thing, corruption in liquor,” Vallabh said.
Controversy Over ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’
This attack came after the Delhi government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department issued a clarification regarding the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana.’ The WCD department emphasized that no such scheme has been officially notified, calling it a fraudulent effort by private individuals or political parties.
The department’s notice, published in national newspapers, stated, “It is clarified that no such scheme has been notified by the Delhi Government.” The department further warned that any attempt to collect forms or applications under this non-existent scheme would be considered fraudulent.
The BJP has seized on this clarification, accusing the AAP government of engaging in digital fraud ahead of the 2025 Delhi assembly elections.
