BJP Defends ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ Kits Distribution, Calls It a Step Toward Inclusive Development

New Delhi [India], March 25: Union Minister Chirag Paswan, along with senior BJP leaders and NDA allies in Bihar, has defended the distribution of the ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ kits, emphasizing that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive development.

In response to allegations from the Opposition that the ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ kits are an electoral gimmick, Chirag Paswan highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the country. He accused the Opposition of having failed Bihar during their time in power, stating, “My PM Narendra Modi ji believes in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. This vision drives both the central and state governments forward. Those now trying to politicize the initiative had the opportunity to govern before, but instead of developing Bihar, they only destroyed it. Today, under PM Modi’s leadership, Bihar is on a path to becoming a developed state.”

BJP MLA Pawan Jaiswal also backed the initiative, reinforcing the party’s longstanding governance principles. “Our ‘mool mantra’ is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas. The NDA government, under PM Modi’s leadership, has consistently worked for the betterment of all. This is not the first time such an initiative is being rolled out; when the government introduced the law against triple talaq, RJD opposed it too, but today the country is witnessing the benefits of such progressive actions,” Jaiswal said in Patna.

Bihar Minister Md Zama Khan expressed his appreciation for the NDA coalition’s actions, stating, “I am confident that under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar and the NDA government, we will receive the ‘Saugat’ (gifts). I am thankful to the NDA government.”

As the political climate in Bihar heats up ahead of upcoming elections, the BJP’s initiative has garnered attention. Opposition parties have criticized the timing, accusing the government of using the distribution as a political tool.

In line with the initiative, the BJP Minority Morcha is set to launch its “Saugat-e-Modi” campaign, which aims to distribute special kits to 32 lakh underprivileged Muslims across the country before Eid. The campaign will begin from Nizamuddin in Delhi on Tuesday, under the guidance of BJP National President JP Nadda. The goal is to ensure that poor Muslim families can celebrate Eid without facing financial hardships. The Minority Morcha will coordinate with 32,000 mosques nationwide, where 32,000 workers will assist in distributing the kits. Jamal Siddiqui, National President of BJP Minority Morcha, explained the broader objective of the campaign. “During the holy month of Ramadan and special occasions like Eid, Good Friday, Easter, Nauruz, and the Indian New Year, the Minority Front will work to reach out to those in need,” he said. Eid Milan celebrations will also be held at the district level.
