BJP Criticizes AAP After Delhi’s WCD Department Flags Mahila Samman Yojana

New Delhi [India], December 25: The BJP has criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after the Delhi Government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department clarified that the “Mahila Samman Yojana,” announced by AAP ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, had not been officially notified.

Virendra Sachdeva, President of the Delhi BJP, accused Kejriwal of misleading the public and committing “digital fraud” by promoting a non-existent scheme. “Arvind Kejriwal is deceiving the people of Delhi. His own department has issued a warning that no such scheme exists. This is Atishi vs Arvind Kejriwal,” Sachdeva stated.

Union Minister Harsh Malhotra also condemned Kejriwal and his leaders for repeatedly misleading the people of Delhi. He highlighted the unfulfilled promises of 500 schools, 20 hospitals, and 20 colleges, as well as the unimplemented Rs 1000 promise to Punjab’s mothers and sisters during the state’s elections. “They should have passed the scheme and implemented it, but they haven’t because there is no provision in the budget. People are being cheated again,” Malhotra said. He further emphasized the need for the government to make the scheme official on the Delhi government website to ensure transparency and security, rather than relying on physical forms that could lead to cyber fraud.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa targeted Kejriwal, labeling him a “big fraud.” He pointed out that while the AAP was collecting forms for the scheme, the Delhi government’s own department clarified that there was no such scheme in existence. “Private individuals are collecting data illegally by filling out forms for this non-existent scheme,” Sirsa added.

BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat also criticized the Delhi government, noting that if government employees were collecting forms, it would imply that a budget provision had been made for the scheme. “However, it is clear that the Delhi government has made a joke out of the entire system. In the past 10 years, they have never implemented any schemes,” Sehrawat stated.

Earlier, the Delhi Government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department issued a clarification regarding the “Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana” announced by AAP. The department’s notice, published in national newspapers, stated that no such scheme had been officially notified. “Since no such scheme exists, any individual or political party collecting forms or information in the name of this non-existent scheme is committing fraud and has no authority,” the notice warned.
