BJP Accuses Kejriwal And Rahul Gandhi Of Exposing Each Other’s Corruption

New Delhi [India], January 30: BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi on Thursday slammed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, accusing them of exposing each other’s corruption in public exchanges.

Addressing a press conference, Trivedi referred to recent remarks made by Rahul Gandhi during a rally, where he accused Kejriwal of being involved in the liquor scam. Rahul Gandhi called the liquor scam a clear case of corruption, criticizing Kejriwal for continuing to present himself as an honest leader despite the scandal. In response, Kejriwal hit back, pointing to the National Herald case involving Gandhi as a blatant example of corruption and questioning why Gandhi hadn’t been held accountable.

Trivedi noted the significance of both scandals, stating, “The liquor scam is unique because no other scandal has seen a government create a policy, withdraw it, and still defend it. Meanwhile, the National Herald case highlights internal corruption within a political party.” He further emphasized that the BJP has no involvement in either case.

“The National Herald case began in October 2013, when Congress was in power, and the first allegations in the liquor scam were raised by Congress. It’s clear now that both parties were lying to the public, having once given each other a clean chit, and now they’re exposing each other’s corruption,” Trivedi said.

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s accusations, Kejriwal posted on X, claiming that Prime Minister Modi jails people by fabricating cases, such as the liquor scam, and questioning why Gandhi and his family were not arrested in the National Herald case. Kejriwal also raised concerns over Robert Vadra receiving a clean chit from the BJP, suggesting that the country knew who the true “coward” and “brave” leaders were.

Trivedi also criticized Kejriwal over his recent comments on the pollution of the Yamuna River. He accused Kejriwal of spreading falsehoods about other states, including Haryana, and claimed that funds allocated by the central government for cleaning the Yamuna had been misused. “The central government allocated Rs 8,500 crore for the cleaning of the Yamuna, but instead of utilizing the funds, Kejriwal is engaging in negative publicity and misleading the public,” Trivedi added.
