BJP Accuses AAP Of Supporting ‘Anti-National’ Forces Amid Allegations Of Fake Votes In Delhi

New Delhi [India]: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday launched a strong attack against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of seeking support from “anti-national” forces to win the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. The controversy centers on allegations of Bangladeshi infiltrators being added to the voter list using fake Aadhaar cards.

BJP National Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed that a probe into fake votes in the national capital revealed that Bangladeshi infiltrators were registered as voters using fraudulent Aadhaar cards. He further alleged the involvement of two AAP MLAs, Mohinder Goyal and Jai Bhagwan Upkar, in the conspiracy.

This development follows Delhi Police’s notice to AAP MLA Mohinder Goyal and his office staff, directing them to join an investigation into a case involving fake Aadhaar card documents. According to Delhi Police sources, several Bangladeshis were arrested, and fake Aadhaar cards were recovered during the probe.

“After the scandals involving alcohol and health fraud, a new and dangerous tendency of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is emerging. Investigation into fake votes in Delhi has revealed that votes of Bangladeshi infiltrators are being made by making fake Aadhaar cards and signatures of two AAP MLAs–Mohinder Goyal and Jai Bhagwan Upkar have been found in this conspiracy… AAP is taking support from anti-national forces…What is the secret of Arvind Kejriwal’s love for anti-national forces?” Trivedi said.

The Delhi Assembly polls are scheduled to be held in a single phase on February 5, with vote counting set for February 8. The last date for filing nominations is January 17, followed by scrutiny of nominations on January 18. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until January 20.

A three-way contest is expected in Delhi, with the incumbent AAP aiming for a fourth consecutive term facing challenges from both BJP and Congress. In the 2020 elections, AAP secured 62 out of 70 seats, while BJP increased its tally from three to eight. Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 years, has been struggling, failing to win any seats in the last two assembly elections.
