BJP Accuses AAP Of Mismanagement And Misusing Taxpayers’ Money

New Delhi, January 4 : BJP National Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi has accused the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of misusing taxpayer money and mismanaging the finances of Delhi. Speaking at a press conference in the National Capital, Trivedi stated, “The Delhi government’s dependence on central government funds has tripled compared to 2014-15. The AAP has pushed the people of Delhi into a disastrous situation through their mismanagement and misuse of taxpayers’ money.”

He further criticized AAP’s governance, saying, “Wherever they are in power, they create a disaster. Just look at Punjab—how is the investment there now, compared to the last three years?”

In addition, a group of women from Punjab staged a protest outside the residence of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, while the Congress party in Punjab also held a protest against the AAP.

Earlier in the day, BJP Delhi President Virendraa Sachdeva slammed Kejriwal’s comments on the water situation in the city, accusing him of lying. “Arvind Kejriwal lied again today. The water supply situation in Delhi is concerning, with residents now disturbed by inflated water bills amounting to lakhs. Yet, Kejriwal has asked people to wait for elections instead of addressing these issues,” Sachdeva said during a media briefing.

In response, Kejriwal had earlier stated that his government had been providing free water to Delhi residents for the past ten years. “More than 12 lakh families receive zero water bills, but after I went to jail, I don’t know what happened to the system,” he told reporters.

With Delhi Assembly elections expected in February 2025, the Election Commission of India has yet to announce the official dates. The AAP won 62 of the 70 seats in the 2020 Assembly elections, while the BJP secured eight seats. Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has struggled in recent elections, failing to secure any seats in the last two Assembly polls.
