Grammy-winning singer Billie Eilish surprised fans during her Manchester show by announcing a 3D project with Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron, sparking speculation about a possible documentary or concert film.
Manchester [UK], July 20: Billie Eilish stunned fans during her concert in Manchester on Saturday when she revealed that she is working on a mysterious project being shot in 3D by legendary filmmaker James Cameron, according to a report by Variety.
While Eilish refrained from disclosing specific details about the project, she confirmed that filming is currently underway and involves footage from her ongoing shows at Co-op Live in Manchester. “So you may have noticed that there are more cameras than usual here,” Eilish told the audience.
“Basically, I can’t say much about it but what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron and it’s going to be in 3D. So, take that as you will and these four shows here in Manchester, you and me are part of a thing that I am making with him. He’s in this audience somewhere, just saying. So don’t mind that, and also I’ll probably be wearing this exact outfit for like four days in a row,” she added.
Fans and media are already speculating about the nature of the collaboration. While some believe it could be a 3D documentary or concert film, others suggest it might be a high-concept music video directed by Cameron. However, official details are yet to be revealed.
This isn’t the first time Billie Eilish has ventured into film projects. She has previously released the 2021 documentary “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry”, which provided an intimate look into her life and career, as well as the concert film “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles.”
Eilish is currently on a world tour promoting her third studio album “Hit Me Hard and Soft”, which will be released in 2024. The tour began in North America in September 2024, followed by shows in Australia and now Europe.
