Bihar’s Rail Connectivity Gets Major Boost With Three New Amrit Bharat Express Trains

PATNA – Three new Amrit Bharat Express trains were sent off Today, which is a big step in improving railway connections in Bihar. These services would connect Bihar to important places in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telangana. Passengers will have a safe, comfortable, and cheap way to travel. The first ceremony was led by Samrat Choudhary, the Deputy Chief Minister, in Patna. Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Railway Minister, joined in by video conference.

With these new trains, there are now 13 Amrit Bharat Express trains running from Bihar, out of a total of 15 across the country. This makes Bihar an even more important center for this popular service.

New Schedules and Routes

The three new Amrit Bharat Express trains will run on these routes:

This is the first Amrit Bharat Express to go directly from Muzaffarpur to South India, from Muzaffarpur to Charlapalli (near Hyderabad). Every Tuesday morning at 10:40 am, the train will leave Muzaffarpur and arrive in Charlapalli on Wednesday night at 11:50 pm. The trip back will leave Charlapalli every Thursday at 4:05 a.m. and arrive in Muzaffarpur on Friday at 5:00 p.m. Hajipur, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Nagpur, and Kazipet will all be important stops along the way.

This new weekly service will connect Darbhanga to Rajasthan by going from Darbhanga to Madar Junction, which is near Ajmer. Every Friday at 9:15 p.m., the train will leave Madar Junction and get to Darbhanga the next day at 12:45 p.m. The train back will leave Darbhanga every Sunday at 4:15 am and get to Madar Junction the next day at 1:20 pm. The route will go through Kamtaul, Sitamarhi, Raxaul, Narkatiaganj, Gorakhpur, Gomti Nagar, Kanpur, Tundla, and Jaipur.

This train would be the sixth Amrit Bharat service to connect Bihar with the national capital. It will run from Chhapra to Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi. It will go through Siwan, Thawe, Kaptanganj, Gorakhpur, Basti, Gonda, Aishbagh (Lucknow), and Kanpur. The service will happen every other week, but the exact schedule for its commercial run hasn’t been completely confirmed yet.

Vision and Features

The Amrit Bharat Express trains are indigenous “push-pull” trains that don’t have air conditioning. They are meant to be fast and comfortable while still being cheap. The trains have state-of-the-art safety and comfort features, such as semi-automatic couplers that keep the train from jerking, fire detection systems, sealed gangways for safety and cleanliness, and talk-back units that let passengers talk to the loco pilot. The Railway Ministry said that for the first time, enhanced safety technology has been added to non-AC coaches as well.

Along with the three Amrit Bharat Express trains, four new passenger trains were also sent off. These services will go along the following routes:

Patna–Buxar

Jhajha–Danapur

Patna to Islampur

Nawada to Patna (via Sheikhpura to Barbigha)

The start of the Nawada–Patna passenger train on the recently inspected Sheikhpura–Barbigha–Bihar Sharif route is a big step forward that the people has been asking for for a long time. The “Viksit Bihar Se Viksit Bharat” (Developed India through a Developed Bihar) vision says that these new services will help the economy and tourism grow.
