Police in Bihar’s Nawada district have uncovered a shocking online scam that lured men from across the country with promises of earning lakhs by impregnating childless women. The racket, which also advertised fake “playboy services,” cheap loans and job offers, was exposed after a cyber cell investigation
According to officials, the scam was promoted through flashy social media advertisements carrying titles such as “All India Pregnant Job.” Men were promised payouts of up to ₹10 lakh in exchange for having sex with childless women and helping them conceive. Similar pitches were used under the guise of escort services and easy loan schemes using misleading names like “Playboy Service,” “Dhani Finance” and “SBI cheap loans.”
Deputy Superintendent of Police Kalyan Anand, who heads Nawada’s cyber cell, said hundreds of men are believed to have fallen victim to the fraud. Victims were first asked to pay money for registration, hotel bookings and other charges before the supposed service could take place. Once payments were made, the promised rewards never materialised.
To make the scheme appear genuine, the accused reportedly sent victims photographs of female models, giving them the illusion of choice. Many victims, drawn by the prospect of quick money equivalent to months of income, continued to pay despite repeated delays and excuses. It was only later that they realised they had been cheated.
So far, police have arrested eight accused and seized nine mobile phones and a printer used in running the operation. Authorities are searching for at least 18 more people suspected to be involved. However, investigators say identifying victims has proven difficult, as many are reluctant to come forward due to embarrassment and social stigma.
Officials believe the gang had been active for nearly a year and may have defrauded hundreds of men, many of whom came from financially vulnerable backgrounds and lost their savings in the process.
