Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, And National Leaders Pay Tribute To Bhagat Singh On Shaheed Diwas

Patna, Bihar [India], March 23: On the occasion of Shaheed Diwas, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Governor Arif Mohammed Khan paid tribute to the iconic freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, commemorating his supreme sacrifice along with fellow martyrs Rajguru and Sukhdev.

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, after offering his tribute, emphasized the importance of remembering the soldiers who laid down their lives for India’s independence. Speaking to reporters, he remarked, “Occasions like this remind us that so many of our soldiers laid down their lives for our independence. The meaning of independence is not limited to freedom from foreign rulers but also understanding our glorious heritage. It is our commitment to work towards making this heritage more glorious.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to social media to pay tribute to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. On the platform X, he expressed, “Today, our nation remembers the supreme sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. Their fearless pursuit of freedom and justice continues to inspire us all.” The Prime Minister highlighted their fearless spirit and dedication to justice, which continues to resonate with the youth of the country.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi also remembered the birth anniversary of Ram Manohar Lohia, describing him as a visionary leader, a fierce freedom fighter, and an icon of social justice.

Congress Leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, while paying tribute to the martyrs, expressed his admiration for their significant contributions to India’s fight for freedom. On X, he posted, “On the martyrdom day of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru, I pay my humble tribute to them.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also honored the memory of these freedom fighters through a heartfelt post on X, acknowledging their pivotal roles in India’s independence movement. “I pay my humble tribute to Martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on ‘Martyr’s Day’ by remembering them who made the supreme sacrifice for Mother India,” he shared.

Congress President and Rajya Sabha Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge too paid tribute to the martyrs, sharing a powerful quote that reflected the revolutionary spirit of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. “The revolutionary spirit and thoughts of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev will remain immortal. We pay humble tribute to these immortal martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland,” Kharge said, quoting the famous lines: “Main zulmat-e-shab mein le ke nikloonga apne dar-manda caravan ko… sharar-fishaan hogi aah meri, nafas mera shola-baar hoga.” (I will emerge from the darkness of the night, carrying my caravan of helplessness… My breath will be a spark, my soul will burn like a flame.)

The collective tributes from political leaders and citizens across the country served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by these legendary freedom fighters, whose contributions continue to inspire generations of Indians in their pursuit of justice and liberty.
