MUMBAI: On the renowned reality show Bigg Boss 19, television actor Gaurav Khanna talked honestly and from the heart about a personal choice he and his wife, Akanksha Chamola, have been making: whether or not to start a family. Gaurav told fellow participant and YouTuber Mridul Tiwari that he wants to have kids, but his wife isn’t ready yet.
The actor, who is well known for playing Anuj Kapadia on the TV show Anupamaa, said that he and Akanksha will be celebrating their ninth wedding anniversary in November. Gaurav said, “No, my wife doesn’t want to,” when Mridul asked if they had kids. With a smile, he said, “I want to, but it’s a love marriage.” Whatever she says, it will happen. If you love someone, you have to agree. “You’ll have to see it through if you’ve loved.”

Gaurav then went on to explain why his wife was right and what she was doing. “Her way of thinking is also right. There are a lot of responsibilities,” he said. “And it’s just the two of us for each other. If I go for work the entire day and she also gets work, with whom will we keep the kids? We don’t want anyone else to take care of them.” He shared that he had initially expressed his desire for a family but ultimately understood and respected his wife’s perspective.
When Mridul suggested that their situation might change over time, Gaurav responded with optimism, “Yes, of course, we will see then. Never say never.”
