New Delhi [India]: Amid escalating hostilities between India and Pakistan following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS)—a prominent labour organisation affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)—has announced a complete suspension of all strikes and agitations, affirming its full support to the Indian government during what it described as a “time of national emergency.”
The resolution was passed during a virtual session of the Kendriya Karya Samithi (KKS), where the organisation urged its affiliated unions to prioritise national interest over organisational objectives, in view of “Operation Sindoor”, India’s military response to cross-border terrorism.
In the meeting, the BMS extended heartfelt congratulations to the Indian Armed Forces for their measured yet strong retaliation against anti-India terrorist outfits operating from Pakistani soil. The organisation hailed the armed forces’ bravery and precision, especially in targeting only extremist infrastructure while avoiding civilian casualties.
The BMS also praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Home Minister Amit Shah, commending their collective efforts in military strategy, internal security, and international diplomacy. The body noted that their decisive actions have boosted India’s global stature and generated public confidence during this period of crisis.
“Just like in 1962, 1965, 1971, and during the Kargil war, the BMS today stands shoulder to shoulder with the nation. We have always placed national security above all else,” read a statement issued after the meeting.
The organisation condemned Pakistan’s deliberate targeting of civilians, particularly in Poonch and Kupwara districts of Jammu and Kashmir, contrasting it with India’s focused military strikes that avoided civilian harm. The BMS stressed that the Indian response has remained measured, strategic, and morally grounded, even in the face of continuous provocation.
The KKS also recalled Pakistan’s previous failed incursions, including Operation Topac and the Kargil conflict, asserting that history has consistently shown India’s ability to defend itself when united.
By suspending all forms of worker agitations nationwide, the BMS has signalled a clear alignment with national priorities, urging all citizens and civil society groups to rise above differences and support the collective fight against foreign aggression.
