Bhajanlal Sharma Unveils Maharaja Ganga Singh’s Statue, Inspects Shivpur Head In Sri Ganganagar

Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan) [India]: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Wednesday visited Shivpur Head in Sri Ganganagar, where he unveiled a statue of Maharaja Ganga Singh, the visionary ruler credited with constructing the Ganga Canal in the early 20th century. The canal transformed the arid region by channeling water from the Satluj River and mitigating famine conditions.

During his visit, CM Sharma also toured the Shri Karanpur Assembly constituency, where he was warmly received by local workers.

Emphasizing the government’s focus on agricultural development, Sharma reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering on poll promises made to farmers. He cited the disbursement of ₹3,400 crore to farmers in the Ganganagar region as a reflection of the government’s dedication to rural upliftment.

“If the farmer is strong, then our state will definitely be strong… In the past two years, an estimated ₹3,400 crore has been given for the farmers of Ganganagar,” Sharma noted while addressing farmers in Hanumangarh district at a meeting held at the PWD Guest House.

He also shared details on several agricultural welfare initiatives, including modernization in farming and ongoing farmer-centric policies aimed at resolving persistent issues related to irrigation, subsidies, and support infrastructure.

In a parallel event to mark World Health Day, the Chief Minister attended a state-level program at the Rajasthan Ayurvedic Research Institute, alongside Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar.

During the event, the Chief Minister launched a series of statewide health campaigns, including:

  • ‘Niramay Rajasthan Campaign’
  • ‘Eat Right Rajasthan’
  • ‘Mission Madhuhari’
  • ‘Mission Liver Smile’
  • ‘CM Ayushman Adarsh Gram Panchayat Yojana’

The initiative also saw the unveiling of digital innovations and infrastructure upgrades, such as:

  • Mobile app for the CM Ayushman Scheme
  • AI-based integrated monitoring system
  • Learning management system
  • 29 breastfeeding management units
  • Hemodialysis wards established in 50 medical institutions

These developments underline the state’s dual commitment to healthcare innovation and rural prosperity, both key pillars of Sharma’s governance model.
