RSS Chief Bhagwat Says India Must Be Prepared To Give Befitting Reply To Pakistan

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat today delivered a strong message to Pakistan, stating that India is prepared to maintain peace but must respond decisively to the neighboring country’s continued hostility.

Speaking at an event in Bengaluru titled ‘100 years of Sangh journey – New Horizons,’ Bhagwat asserted that India’s willingness for peace has not been reciprocated by Islamabad.

Mohan Bhagwat: “We always have peace with Pakistan. It is Pakistan that does not have peace with us… As long as Pakistan gets some satisfaction out of causing harm to Bharat, it will keep doing it… We must give a befitting answer to their repeated tries.”

Deterrence as the Path to Peace

Bhagwat stressed that Pakistan needs to realize the consequences of its aggressive stance. He recalled the 1971 war, noting that Pakistan “lost a complete army of 90,000” and will continue to face harm if it does not cooperate with India.

“It is better to go closer or it will be harmed… But they don’t seem to understand this language. So we have to speak the language they understand and that language is ‘we cannot do anything about Bharat’,” the RSS chief emphasized. He urged India to remain fully prepared to “defeat them always, each time causing them some loss, so that they repent.”

Rajnath Singh Reiterates ‘Operation Sindoor’ Warning

Bhagwat’s remarks align with recent statements by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who has maintained a firm posture regarding cross-border strikes against terrorism.

Rajnath Singh recently reiterated in an interview that Operation Sindoor—a targeted, precise military action launched in May 2025 following the Pahalgam terror attack—was merely “halted, not ended.”

Singh described Operation Sindoor as a “demo of India’s power” and a “good dose of caution” to Pakistan, warning that the Armed Forces are ready to showcase their “real strength” if any misadventure is attempted in the future. The Defence Minister also emphasized that India’s actions are driven by self-reliance in the defence sector and not by external pressure, asserting, “We proved ‘ghar mein ghus ke maarenge’ with Operation Sindoor.”

Both the RSS chief and the Defence Minister stressed the need for constant vigilance and decisive retaliation to ensure Pakistan understands the cost of hostility and eventually chooses to become a peaceful neighbour.
