Los Angeles (US), January 13 : Singer Beyoncé is stepping in to support communities affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. Her foundation, BeyGOOD, has pledged to donate $2.5 million to assist families as they begin the rebuilding process after losing their homes and belongings.
Founded in 2013, BeyGOOD will focus its efforts on areas like Altadena and Pasadena, which were heavily impacted by the fires. In addition to providing aid to displaced families, the foundation will extend support to local churches and community centers in other affected regions to address the immediate needs of those affected by the disaster.
This contribution adds to a growing wave of support for fire relief. On Friday, the Walt Disney Company pledged $15 million toward rebuilding efforts, while Paramount and Fox Corp. donated $1 million, directing their funds to the American Red Cross and the Los Angeles Fire Department. Warner Music and the Blavatnik Foundation also committed $1 million for fire relief and recovery efforts in the region.
In addition, actor Jamie Lee Curtis has announced a $1 million donation to support the fire relief fund, highlighting the ongoing efforts to assist those in need. “As the fire still rages on, we’ve pledged $1 million from our Family Foundation to start a fund of support for our great city and state,” Curtis shared on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the first responders and the community’s resilience.
