August 10, 2025: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent out three new Vande Bharat Express trains. This was a big step in making India’s high-speed rail network bigger. The event took place in Bengaluru, where one service was launched in person and two others were launched online.
The Prime Minister opened the Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Express in person at the KSR Bengaluru train station, which people had been looking forward to for a long time. This new service will greatly cut down on travel time and improve connections between the northern section of Karnataka and the state capital.
At the same time, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Amritsar and Ajni (Nagpur)–Pune Vande Bharat services were both started online. The Ajni-Pune line, which is 881 kilometers long, will be the longest-running Vande Bharat service in the country. It will connect two of Maharashtra’s biggest cities. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Amritsar service is expected to make it easier and faster for tourists and pilgrims to get about.
A lot of people came out to see the flagging-off event in Bengaluru. As the Prime Minister’s motorcade drove by, a big crowd chanted “Modi, Modi.” He waved back from his car. These new trains are designed to give passengers a world-class travel experience, create new business opportunities, and enhance tourism in the areas where they operate.
