New Delhi [India], January 25: The Beating Retreat ceremony, which marks the conclusion of the 76th Republic Day celebrations, commenced today at Vijay Chowk. The ceremony was set against the majestic backdrop of the setting sun over the Raisina Hills, filling the air with foot-tapping Indian melodies.
The bands of the Indian Army (IA), Indian Navy (IN), Indian Air Force (IAF), and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will perform 30 captivating Indian tunes for an esteemed audience, including President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The ceremony began with the massed band’s rendition of the iconic tune ‘Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja’. Commander Manoj Sebastian will serve as the principal conductor for this special occasion.
President Murmu led the nation in celebrating the 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025, from Kartavya Path, with a special focus on 75 years of the enactment of the Constitution and Jan Bhagidari (people’s participation). The celebrations beautifully blended India’s rich cultural diversity, unity, equality, development, and military strength. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was the Chief Guest for the event.
In line with the Government’s goal of enhancing ‘Jan Bhagidari’ in national events, around 10,000 Special Guests from various fields were invited to witness the parade. These individuals, who have excelled in their respective domains or made significant use of government schemes, represent the architects of ‘Swarnim Bharat’.
