BCCI Confirms Compliance With ICC Jersey Guidelines For Champions Trophy 2025

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed its adherence to the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) jersey guidelines for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, according to a statement by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.

Saikia’s assurance comes in the wake of speculation suggesting that the BCCI might omit Pakistan’s name—the tournament’s co-host—from their jerseys, given that Team India is set to play all its matches in Dubai. “BCCI will follow the jersey guidelines of ICC during Champions Trophy 2025,” Saikia stated, emphasizing compliance.

Champions Trophy Overview

The ninth edition of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy is scheduled from February 19 to March 9, 2025, with matches hosted in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The tournament will feature eight teams playing a total of 15 ODIs, split across two groups:

  • Group A: Pakistan (hosts), India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh
  • Group B: Australia (2023 World Cup champions), Afghanistan, England, and South Africa

India’s campaign kicks off against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai. The highly anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai, and India’s group stage concludes with a match against New Zealand on March 2.
