Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 20: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a generous cash prize of Rs 58 crore for the Indian team following their triumphant victory at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Each player in the squad will receive Rs 3 crore, along with other members of the support and coaching staff receiving significant recognition for their contributions.
BCCI Secretary, revealed the detailed breakdown of the cash reward:
- Rs 3 crore for each player in the squad
- Rs 3 crore for the head coach Gautam Gambhir
- Rs 50 lakh for assistant coaches Ryan Ten Doeschate, Abhishek Nayar, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, and bowling coach Morne Morkel
- Rs 50 lakh for other support staff
- Rs 25 lakh each for BCCI officials
The announcement follows India’s back-to-back white-ball victories, with the Champions Trophy triumph coming just after their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 victory. India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the final of CT 2025 held in Dubai on March 9.
BCCI’s Appreciation for Team India’s Dominance
The BCCI press release highlighted the team’s stellar performance under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, which included four impressive victories leading up to the final. India dominated their opponents throughout the tournament:
- Six-wicket win over Bangladesh
- Six-wicket win over Pakistan
- 44-run victory over New Zealand
- Four-wicket win over Australia in the semi-final
