Lt.Col Arun Chandel- A young Captain from a 3rd generation family in uniformed services joined an elite Cavalry Regiment of the Indian Army. A spirited officer bubbling with josh and hunger for adventure threw himself between life and death, beyond the call of duty in a military operation, undeterred by the emotional blitz of being recently married with a newborn child.
In recognition of his devotion to duty and courage of very high order in the face of militants’ fire, Captain Arun Kumar Chandel was awarded ‘Sena Medal’ for gallantry.
