Captain Akhilesh Saxena is a natural Leader who has showcased the qualities of Leadership, teamwork, strategic planning and bravery on the battlefield of the Kargil war. He has successfully showcased his leadership skills even in the corporate sector. He is an inspiring leader.
The sheer grit of this man exhibited from the fact that he was posted at the battlefield of Kargil just weeks after he got married. Nothing could deter this brave captain, who was an artillery officer and fought with 2-Rajputana Rifles in the Kargil war. This Kargil war hero, successfully, along with his troops, conquered the Kargil peaks — Tololing, Hump, and Three Pimples. The young officers of the Indian Army set an example for the rest of the world–Lead from the front, in the most challenging terrain of the Kargil. He is a man of action and not mere words, and this he exhibited with his Leadership in a crises situation in the Kargil war.
At the time of the Three Pimples attack of the Kargil war, Captain Akhilesh Saxena got severely injured by the enemy bullets and had to move out of Army due to war injuries. He moved to the corporate sector and is a gold medallist of the 2004 batch of full-time MBA course at Delhi University’s Faculty of Management Studies (FMS). After his stint with an IT company and telecom company, he joined the Tata Group in a senior leadership position.
He is the recipient of Kargil wound medal and Green card from Govt of India. Captain Akhilesh Saxena was recognized during our 70th Republic day celebrations on Rajpath, Delhi for his outstanding contribution to Nation both during Kargil war and now inspiring and motivating society. His picture was displayed on the Republic day tableau as part of Republic day celebrations.
