Basant Panchami Amrit Snan Concludes Successfully At Maha Kumbh 2025 In Prayagraj

The third and final ‘Amrit Snan’ of the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, took place on Basant Panchami, with a sea of devotees taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. The event concluded peacefully, with over 12.5 million devotees participating as of noon on Monday.

Security and Safety Measures

  • Tight security was implemented across the fair area, ensuring a safe and orderly experience for devotees, saints, and other participants.
  • A comprehensive security arrangement involved forces such as civil police, traffic police, mounted police, women police, fire brigade, PAC, STF, ATS, NSG commandos, paramilitary forces, and bomb disposal squads deployed at key locations.
  • Water police, divers, and teams from SDRF, NDRF, and Flood Company were stationed at the holy Sangam and other ghats to ensure the safety of bathers.
  • CCTV cameras and drones were installed throughout the area for continuous surveillance.
  • Public Address Systems gave real-time safety instructions, urging devotees to follow protocols.
  • A total of 36 designated parking zones were established to manage the influx of visitors.

Successful Management and Appreciation

  • Senior officers, including ADG Prayagraj Zone Bhanu Bhaskar, Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba, and others, oversaw crowd control and security, with some officers patrolling on horseback.
  • Lost and found centers were set up to reunite missing persons with their families.
  • The well-coordinated efforts of the authorities were praised by devotees from both India and abroad, who expressed gratitude for the smooth and organized experience.

Flower Petals for Saints and Seers

  • In a spiritual gesture, the Uttar Pradesh government showered flower petals on the saints and seers gathered for the ‘Amrit Snan’ at Triveni Sangam.

Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 Timeline

  • The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13, is set to conclude on February 26. With millions of devotees already participating, the event is expected to break new attendance records, making it a grand success for the spiritual gathering.
