Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 13: In line with the current trend of film re-releases, the makers of Bareilly Ki Barfi are bringing the beloved film back to the big screen. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon, and RajKummar Rao, the film will hit theatres on February 7, offering audiences a nostalgic experience.
The film’s makers shared the news on Instagram, saying, “This Valentine’s, celebrate love and friendship and fill mithaas in your life with our barfis! #BareillyKiBarfi re-releasing in cinemas on 7th Feb.”
Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Bareilly Ki Barfi originally released in 2017, with Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Pahwa also playing significant roles. The re-release has excited fans who have shared their enthusiasm on social media. One user commented, “Yaay… can’t wait to go to theatres,” while another said, “One of the best films.”
Last year, the film marked its seventh anniversary. Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari took to Instagram to share throwback pictures from the film’s making, reflecting on the journey and expressing gratitude. She shared, “7 years #Bareillykibarfi. Gratitude for the love. And especially for you, Amma, the cinema lover. I made Bareilly Ki Barfi when the kids were 5 years old, but with Your insane confidence in me… You gave me the wings to follow my unknown path, and the reason I got into making movies.”
The film follows Bitti (Kriti Sanon), a spirited young woman who refuses to be pressured into marriage. Her life changes when she meets Chirag Dubey (Ayushmann Khurrana), a printing press owner, and expresses her desire to meet her favourite author, Pritam Vidrohi (RajKummar Rao).
With catchy songs like “Sweety Tera Drama” and “Nazm Nazm,” the movie’s lively and playful spirit captured hearts, and now, fans will have the chance to relive the magic on the big screen once again.
