Washington DC [US]: Iconic singer and performer Barbra Streisand is returning with a new musical project titled “The Secret Of Life: Partners, Volume Two,” a follow-up to her 2014 hit album Partners, as reported by Variety. The album, set to release on June 27, will feature a stunning lineup of musical legends and modern stars alike.
Joining Streisand on this album are Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Hozier, Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Sting, James Taylor, Sam Smith, Josh Groban, Tim McGraw, and Seal. The record will contain 11 tracks, with one standout song titled “One Heart, One Voice” performed not as a duet, but as a trio featuring Streisand, Mariah Carey, and Ariana Grande.
The album’s first single, a duet with Hozier on the timeless classic “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” has already been released across digital streaming platforms.
In a heartfelt statement to Variety, Hozier expressed deep admiration for Streisand:
“Barbra Streisand is one of the most enduring and iconic vocalists of our time, and somebody who defined an era with the sheer force of her voice, her talent, charisma and vision. To be asked to join her on a duet was a huge honor and came as a wonderful and welcome surprise.”
He also shared that the duet is a tribute to Roberta Flack’s legacy:
“Ewan MacColl’s ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,’ made famous by the stunning Roberta Flack recording, has always mystified me. It is, to me, one of the most beautiful love songs ever written. Like so many, I was deeply saddened to hear of her recent passing. Along with the honour I have to sing on this record with Barbra, I hope this duet offers something of a gesture to Roberta Flack’s incredible legacy.”
Of particular interest is a rare duet with Bob Dylan, an artist who has seldom participated in collaborative recordings throughout his career. Fans will no doubt be eager to hear his contribution.
