New Delhi [India], February 15 : The Bar Council of India (BCI) has identified a fraudulent document titled “Official Notification- Mandatory Minimum Fee Structure for Advocates in India,” dated February 15, 2025. This document falsely claims to introduce a mandatory minimum fee structure for advocates, effective from March 1, 2025.
The BCI has confirmed that this document is a forgery, lacking official signatures, proper reference numbers, and procedural documentation. The mention of “No Signature Required” is a deliberate attempt to evade verification, a common tactic in creating fraudulent documents. The misuse of the BCI’s name and address aims to deceive the public and the legal community into believing it is an official directive.
The BCI condemns the creation and circulation of this false document and assures that legal proceedings are underway against those responsible. Disseminating such false information is a serious criminal offense and will be met with strict legal consequences.
