Balochistan [Pakistan], April 18: The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has strongly condemned what it describes as the reemergence of the notorious “Kill and Dump” policy in Balochistan. The organization says this resurgence raises serious questions about Pakistan’s adherence to international human rights norms, according to a report by The Balochistan Post.
A spokesperson for the BWF emphasized that these incidents deepen the sense of alienation among the Baloch people from the Pakistani federation. The statement comes after a disturbing pattern of killings: within just three days, the bodies of three Baloch youths—previously subjected to enforced disappearances—were discovered across Makuran and Naal (Khuzdar).
One victim, Farooq Ahmed, son of Noor Ahmed Miraje from Naal, Khuzdar, was reportedly abducted on April 14. His body, showing signs of torture, was found the following day near the Samad check-post.
Another victim, Nizam Baloch, son of Mehmood Baloch and a resident of Pasni (Gwadar district), was taken from his home on April 12 by what local sources allege were intelligence operatives. After four days of reported torture, his body was dumped in Pasni on April 16.
Similarly, 2025 saw the tragic death of Sher Khan Nizar, a student and part-time worker from Turbat. He was detained on April 15 without a warrant and found dead the next night behind the University of Turbat, bearing evidence of severe torture.
According to The Balochistan Post, a growing number of enforced disappearances are being reported across Balochistan, affecting individuals from various age groups and professions. Eyewitnesses commonly point to involvement by law enforcement and intelligence agencies. While some detainees are eventually released, others are found dead, and many remain missing.
In response, the BWF issued a strong appeal to the Pakistani government: “We demand the immediate and unconditional cessation of enforced disappearances of Baloch people, which have caused significant harm to the peace and stability of Baloch society. Additionally, we urge the authorities to promptly hold all those responsible for these actions accountable.”
