With chants of ‘Jai Badri Vishal’ and over 40 quintals of flowers adorning the shrine, the sacred Char Dham Yatra 2025 gains momentum as Badrinath Dham welcomes pilgrims.
Chamoli (Uttarakhand), May 4:
The portals of the revered Badrinath Dham were ceremoniously opened on Sunday morning, marking a significant spiritual moment in the ongoing Char Dham Yatra 2025. The atmosphere was steeped in devotion, as the Indian Army’s Garhwal Rifles band played melodic tunes and flower petals were showered on assembled devotees amid loud chants of “Jai Badri Vishal.”
As the shrine gates opened, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj blessed the occasion and said,
“Today the entire country rejoices. I encourage devotees to come in large numbers and experience the spiritual bliss of Badrinath Dham.”
Char Dham Yatra 2025 Fully Underway
The opening of Badrinath Dham completes the ceremonial commencement of all four sacred sites in the Char Dham circuit.
- April 30: Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham opened on Akshaya Tritiya
- May 2: Doors of Kedarnath temple opened
- May 4: Badrinath Dham opens, drawing thousands of pilgrims
The temple was lavishly decorated with 40 quintals of flowers, transforming the sacred space into a visual and spiritual spectacle.
Security and Pilgrim Management in Focus
In anticipation of the large influx of pilgrims, Uttarakhand DGP Deepam Seth and ADG V. Murugeshan visited Badrinath Dham earlier in the week to oversee preparations. Their review covered:
- Security arrangements
- Traffic and crowd management
- Communication systems along the pilgrimage routes
So far, over 22 lakh devotees have registered at the Rishikesh Transit Camp to embark on the Char Dham journey.
Chief Minister Dhami: Devotee Safety is Top Priority
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, speaking on Saturday, emphasized that ensuring the safe travel of pilgrims, especially at Kedarnath, remains the government’s topmost priority. With high-altitude terrain and dense footfall, logistical coordination is critical during the yatra season.
