Popular Punjabi and Bollywood singer B. Praak has been placed under tight police protection following a chilling death threat and a ₹10 crore extortion demand. The threat, allegedly issued by an associate of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was delivered through a voice message sent to the singer’s close friend and colleague, singer Dilnoor.
The Extortion Demand
The threat surfaced after Dilnoor received several suspicious calls from foreign numbers on January 5 and 6, 2026. According to the police complaint, a caller identifying himself as Arju Bishnoi (allegedly an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi) sent an audio message with an ultimatum:
- The Demand: ₹10 crore to be paid within one week.
- The Threat: The caller warned that B. Praak would be “reduced to dust” or “buried in the ground” if the money was not delivered.
- Scope: The gang explicitly mentioned that even if B. Praak leaves the country, they would target anyone associated with him.

Police Action & Investigation
Acting on the complaint filed by Dilnoor, the Mohali Police have registered an FIR and launched a high-priority investigation.
| Measure | Details |
| Security | Armed security has been deployed for B. Praak and his family. |
| Tracing | Cyber cells are tracing the origin of the foreign calls (suspected to be from an international location). |
| Verification | Authorities are verifying the identity of “Arju Bishnoi” and the caller’s direct links to the main Bishnoi syndicate. |
This incident follows a pattern of high-profile extortion attempts by the Bishnoi gang, which has previously targeted Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and was linked to the assassination of Sidhu Moose Wala and Baba Siddique.
