New Delhi [India], March 17: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana was appointed the official Fit India Icon by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya at the inaugural ceremony of the Fit India Movement in New Delhi on Sunday. As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative, Ayushmann will work towards promoting physical fitness as an integral part of daily life and inspire people across India to prioritize their health and well-being.

The Fit India Movement, launched in 2019, aims to foster a culture of fitness through various events and initiatives. It encourages individuals to incorporate physical activity into their daily routines while showcasing the benefits of staying active. Additionally, the movement seeks to revive and promote traditional Indian sports, bridging the gap between cultural heritage and modern physical fitness.
Speaking at the event, Ayushmann highlighted the importance of maintaining good health, stating, “When your health is good, the challenges in life—whether personal or professional—seem manageable. But when your health is compromised, it becomes the only challenge that matters.” He further emphasized that a healthy nation leads to prosperity and productivity.
Ayushmann expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Union Sports Minister Mandaviya, saying, “I am deeply honoured to be named a Fit India Icon. I offer my blessings to the younger generation and to our great nation—Ayushman Bhava.”
Union Sports Minister Mandaviya praised Ayushmann’s involvement in the movement, noting that his participation would inspire many young people to adopt healthier lifestyles and contribute to making India a developed nation.
