Ayodhya Farmer Alleges PAN Misuse In ₹25-Crore GST Fraud

A farmer from Ayodhya has alleged that his PAN card was fraudulently used in Delhi to obtain a GST number and report turnovers running into crores, despite his modest livelihood.

Narendra, a resident of Sarai Khargi village, said he owns just three bighas of land and survives through farming. Yet, he has been repeatedly served with income tax notices citing massive turnovers.

“The latest notice lists a turnover of ₹11.91 crore, while earlier notices reflected ₹5 crore and ₹7 crore,” Narendra said.

He alleged that someone in Delhi had secured a GST number using his PAN and reported a turnover of ₹20–25 crore for 2021–22. “I have not visited Delhi in the past 25 years and never shared my documents with anyone,” he insisted.

Investigation Underway

Bikapur Kotwali inspector Lalchand Saroj confirmed that the case involves both the income tax and GST departments.

“An investigation is underway, and authorities are coordinating to trace and apprehend the culprits,” Saroj said.

Initial probes indicate that Narendra’s PAN was misused in New Delhi. GST officials in Ayodhya and Delhi are now working together to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
