Chaitra Navratri 2025 will begin on March 30. The nine-day festival, dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and her nine forms, is one of the most significant celebrations in the Hindu calendar. During this period, devotees honor the nine avatars of Goddess Durga, collectively known as Navdurga.
Navratri is celebrated four times a year, but Chaitra Navratri and Shardiya Navratri are the most widely observed due to their alignment with seasonal changes. The festival culminates on Ram Navami, which marks the birthday of Lord Ram.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also conducted a review meeting with district officials on March 21 to ensure smooth preparations for the Navratri celebrations, especially at the Pateshwari Devi Temple in Balrampur.
The Shree Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir recently held its Pran Patishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the key rituals. The idol of Ram Lalla, which stands 51 inches tall and weighs 1.5 tonnes, was carved by renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj from Karnataka. It portrays Lord Ram as a five-year-old, standing on a lotus crafted from the same stone.
