Australia And South Africa Arrive In Dubai For ICC Champions Trophy Semifinal; Fate Dependent On India-New Zealand Match

Dubai [UAE], March 2: The Australian team has arrived in Dubai ahead of a potential appearance in the ICC Champions Trophy semifinal against India, while South Africa will fly in on Sunday, as per sources. Both teams have already secured their spots in the Champions Trophy semifinals from Group B, but their opponents will depend on the outcome of the final group stage match between India and New Zealand, scheduled for Sunday in Dubai.

As per the tournament’s hybrid model, India has been playing its matches in Dubai due to security concerns in Pakistan, which is hosting the majority of the tournament. If India wins and tops Group A, they will face Australia, the second-best team in Group B. New Zealand will then play South Africa, who have topped Group B. However, if New Zealand wins and tops Group A, they will play Australia, and India will face South Africa instead.

Depending on the result of the India-New Zealand clash, either Australia or South Africa will fly back to Pakistan for the other semifinal match.
