New Delhi (India), January 23: The Indian Air Force’s (IAF) flypast during the full dress rehearsal for Republic Day captivated the audience on Thursday, as the roar of jets filled the sky in preparation for India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations.
A total of 47 IAF aircraft will participate in the Republic Day flypast, scheduled to take place at the end of the celebrations. This year, the flypast will feature Sukhoi Su-30 MKI, Rafale jets, Dornier transport aircraft, Mi-17 helicopters, and Apache attack helicopters.
The flypast will follow the national anthem and the unveiling of the official logo marking 75 years of the Indian Constitution. Before the aerial display, 31 tableaux from various states, union territories, and central government ministries will showcase the theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas.”
The 2025 Republic Day Parade is expected to be a grand spectacle, highlighting India’s cultural diversity and military strength, with a special emphasis on 75 years of the Indian Constitution and public participation in governance.
This year’s parade will be graced by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who will attend as the chief guest. “A 160-member marching contingent and a 190-member band contingent from Indonesia will join Indian Armed Forces contingents at Kartavya Path,” said Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh during a media briefing in New Delhi.
The Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2025, will commence with Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying a wreath at the National War Memorial. The President will arrive at Kartavya Path in a ceremonial buggy, followed by a salute during the ceremonial march past, which will include contingents from the Armed Forces, Para Military Forces, Auxiliary Civil Forces, NCC, and NSS.
The parade will also feature a unique cultural performance, with 300 artists playing musical instruments from across the country, before the march past of the Indian and Indonesian military contingents.
