Atishi Confident Of AAP’s Victory, Predicts Fourth Term For Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi on Saturday expressed confidence in her party’s victory in the Delhi Assembly elections. She asserted that the people of Delhi, including voters in her Kalkaji constituency, would support AAP and re-elect Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister with a massive mandate.

Predicting a sweeping win, she stated, “Arvind Kejriwal will become the Chief Minister of Delhi for the fourth time with a huge majority.”

Speaking to the media outside her residence, Atishi described the election as a battle between good governance and “gundagardi” (hooliganism) and expressed faith in the people’s verdict.
“This has not been an ordinary election; it has been a fight between good and evil, a fight between work and hooliganism. I have high hopes that the people of Kalkaji constituency and the entire state of Delhi will stand up with the party that has worked, will stand up with the Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal,” she said.

Reflecting on AAP’s journey, she recalled how the party started without financial or political backing but gained public trust through its governance model.
“If you look at the history of the Aam Aadmi Party, we had no resources when we started in politics. We did not have financial strength or power. Nobody could have imagined back then that AAP could succeed in politics.”

Emphasizing AAP’s focus on development rather than religion or vote-bank politics, she added, “We do not indulge in religious politics or vote bank politics. What we have is the love of the people of Delhi and the grace of God. I hope that once again, we receive the love and blessings of the people of the national capital today.”

As the counting of votes for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections commenced at 8 AM, Atishi arrived at the Meerabai DSEU counting center in Maharani Bagh.

AAP, under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, is seeking a fourth consecutive term, relying on its governance record in education, healthcare, and public welfare. The party faces a tough battle against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress in a high-stakes contest.

Most exit polls released on Wednesday gave the BJP an edge over AAP. However, AAP leaders dismissed these projections, arguing that exit polls have historically underestimated their party’s performance.

Key battlegrounds include the New Delhi constituency, where former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is contesting against Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit and BJP’s Parvesh Verma. In Kalkaji, Atishi is up against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress’ Alka Lamba.

The Congress, which once ruled Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has failed to secure a seat in the last two elections. While AAP has dominated the capital’s politics over the last decade, the BJP is determined to break this trend and reclaim power after more than two decades.
