Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot Pay Tribute to Rajesh Pilot on His 25th Death Anniversary

Jaipur (Rajasthan), June 11: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot paid heartfelt tribute to Rajesh Pilot on his 25th death anniversary, remembering his immense contribution to the country and the state.

Speaking to ANI, Gehlot expressed sorrow over the late leader’s untimely demise in a road accident.

“He contributed significantly to both the country and Rajasthan. Even after 25 years, we’re still saddened by his tragic death. We are commemorating his legacy today with deep respect,” Gehlot said.

Sachin Pilot Honors His Father’s Legacy

Earlier in the day, a prayer meeting was held in Bhandana, where Rajesh Pilot’s son and Congress leader Sachin Pilot paid tribute to his father.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sachin remembered Rajesh Pilot as a symbol of honesty, courage, and public service.

“His public service, honesty, and courage will always inspire me. He pledged respect and empowerment for every section of society — including farmers and youth. With his humility and hard work, he earned a place in every heart. Heartfelt tribute to him,” Sachin wrote.

Congress President Kharge Remembers the Farmer’s Leader

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also joined in paying homage to the late leader.

“India will develop in the true sense only when children of farmers and laborers reach positions of power. Our heartfelt tribute to former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Rajesh Pilot ji on his 25th death anniversary,” Kharge said in a social media post.

Rajesh Pilot: From Air Force to Political Icon

Born in a small village in Uttar Pradesh, Rajesh Pilot started life as a milkman in Delhi before joining the Indian Air Force. His political journey began in 1979 after meeting then-Congress President Indira Gandhi, who encouraged him to contest elections.

He went on to win from Bharatpur and Dausa and became a respected leader, especially among the Gurjar community. Rajesh Pilot held several key ministerial roles in the Telecommunications, Internal Security, and Environment ministries during his political career.

His legacy continues to influence Indian politics through his son, Sachin Pilot, and the many leaders who credit him as an inspiration.
