During a high-level interaction in Riyadh, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, part of the multi-party Indian delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, called for Pakistan to be reinstated on the FATF grey list, citing overwhelming evidence of Islamabad’s continuing support for terrorist infrastructure and financing.
Owaisi Calls Out Pakistan’s Terror Nexus
Owaisi spotlighted disturbing imagery and facts, including a photo of US-designated terrorist Mohammad Ehsan seated beside Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir, as a direct indicator of the Pakistani military’s links with terrorism.
“Terrorist groups are flourishing in Pakistan. They are being trained to destabilise India and incite communal riots,” Owaisi declared.
He emphasized the need to re-list Pakistan under the FATF grey list, stating that doing so previously forced Islamabad to act against terrorism—however superficially.
“After the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, India handed over concrete evidence to Pakistan. But nothing moved until international pressure, through FATF, compelled them to admit that Sajid Mir — who they claimed was dead — was in fact alive,” said Owaisi.
Sajid Mir and Pakistan’s Double Game
Citing Sajid Mir, one of the masterminds behind the 26/11 attacks, Owaisi exposed Pakistan’s duplicitous claims:
“First, they said he was dead. Then, under FATF pressure, they admitted he was alive and even sentenced him — not for terrorism, but for money laundering. The real culprits of 26/11 are still free.”
Chilling Evidence from 26/11 Unveiled
Owaisi also reiterated how Indian investigators captured audio recordings of handlers in Pakistan directing the 26/11 terrorists in real time:
“The handlers told the terrorists to kill as many as possible, promising them Jannat. These were not vague allegations — these were recorded conversations. And Ajmal Kasab’s testimony backed it up entirely.”
A United Front Against Terrorism
Owaisi’s comments came during a diplomatic mission involving:
- BJP MPs: Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, Satnam Singh Sandhu
- AIMIM MP: Asaduddin Owaisi
- Ghulam Nabi Azad, former J&K CM (earlier leg, now returned to India due to illness)
- Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla
The delegation’s agenda is to inform international stakeholders about India’s firm stance against cross-border terrorism, especially after Operation Sindoor, which was launched in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Strategic Outreach Across the Gulf and Beyond
The delegation is touring Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria, engaging with top officials, civil society leaders, and foreign policy experts to:
- Highlight India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism
- Counter global misinformation about India’s internal affairs
- Strengthen strategic and counter-terror partnerships
This assertive diplomatic effort demonstrates India’s resolve to call out Pakistan’s state-sponsored terrorism at international platforms, with cross-party unity sending a strong message to the global community.
