Arvind Kejriwal To Visit Flood-Ravaged Punjab, Pledges All-Out Support For Relief Efforts

CHANDIGARH — Arvind Kejriwal, the National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Chief Minister of Delhi, will visit Punjab on Thursday to demonstrate support for the people there who have been affected by the floods. He will be joined by Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, to see how bad the damage is, check on the continuing relief efforts, and talk to families who have been affected by the worst floods in the state in decades.

The visit comes after the AAP leadership worked hard to get people in Punjab to support them. On Wednesday, Sanjay Singh, a prominent AAP politician and Member of Parliament, also came to Punjab to meet with those who had lost everything in the floods. At the same time, a truck full with supplies from the party’s Delhi section was sent to the state.

Kejriwal has been quite vocal about his support for Punjab. He has used X (previously Twitter) to show his support and commend the strength of the people. He stated, “Everyone in the Aam Aadmi Party, from the workers to the Chief Minister, Ministers, and MLAs, has stood with the people of Punjab in this terrible tragedy.” “I salute the spirit of all.” We will get through this terrible calamity with the help of the people of Punjab, and Punjab will be rich again. He also asked people and other political parties to put politics aside and help Punjab when it needed it most.

The AAP’s full efforts to help and rebuild

The AAP has put a lot of money into the relief operations, showing that they are taking a multi-faceted response to the situation.

On-the-Ground Operations: AAP ministers, MLAs, and party volunteers are on the ground, utilizing boats to get to marooned communities, rescue people who are stuck there, and provide them important supplies like food, water, medicine, and animal feed.

Financial Aid: The party has said that all of its MPs and MLAs from all across the country, including Delhi, Gujarat, and Goa, will give their one month’s pay to the Punjab Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Several MPs have also given large donations from their MPLADS funds. For example, Rajya Sabha MP N.D. Gupta has promised ₹25 lakhs, Sandeep Pathak has promised ₹5 million, and Ashok Mittal has promised ₹20 lakhs.

Damage Assessment: Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia recently went to a few places that were hit by floods and talked about how the floods will effect people in the long term, especially the loss of productive agriculture. He wrote on X that “hundreds of acres of fields have been swept away by the river,” stressing the need for farmers to get help right soon and also for long-term recovery.

The leaders of the AAP and the party’s cadre are all working together to show that they are all working together to deal with what has been called an unparalleled natural disaster. The AAP party has repeated its message that “today, the whole nation is with Punjab.” The whole AAP organization is working “shoulder to shoulder” with the people of Punjab.
