New Delhi [India], December 22: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the party workers for their overwhelming victory in the Punjab Municipal Elections.
Kejriwal expressed that the win represents the realization of every Punjabi’s dreams, highlighting the public’s support for development, integrity, and a progressive Punjab. In a post on social media platform X, he wrote, “This victory is the victory of every Punjabi’s dreams. You voted for development, honesty, and a progressive Punjab. Congratulations to the people of Punjab, CM Mann, and every AAP worker for this historic win in the Nagar Panchayat and Nagar Parishad elections.”
In the recently concluded Punjab Municipal Elections, AAP triumphed by winning 522 out of 961 wards (about 55 percent) and 31 out of 41 Municipal Councils and Panchayats.
AAP Punjab’s official social media account also celebrated the victory, posting: “Congratulations to every grassroots volunteer of AAP Punjab for winning 522 out of 961 wards (55 percent) and 31 out of 41 Municipal Councils & Panchayats! The people have chosen progress, honesty, and change under the leadership of @ArvindKejriwal ji and @BhagwantMann Ji. This victory belongs to every Punjabi who dreams of a better future. Thank you for your trust and support!”
The post further noted, “AAP performed exceptionally well in the Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat elections in Punjab. The people of Punjab have made history by winning 522 out of 961 wards across the state. AAP won 31 out of 41 Municipal Councils and Panchayats. This victory is for the entire Punjab. Under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, Punjab’s development is progressing rapidly and will continue.”
Earlier, Aman Arora, the newly elected AAP Punjab state president, expressed gratitude to the people for supporting the party in the December 21 municipal elections. These polls were held for wards in municipal corporations, municipal councils, and Nagar Panchayats across the state.
The Election Commission of Punjab had announced the polls on December 9, with the nomination process running from December 9 to 12. Scrutiny of nominations took place on December 13, and candidates had until December 14 to withdraw their nominations.
