Army Launches Fresh Search Ops In Bandipora, J&K; Soldier Martyred In Udhampur Encounter

Security forces have intensified counter-terror operations across Jammu and Kashmir, launching a fresh search operation in the Bandipora district early Friday morning. According to official sources, the operation is currently underway in the Kulnar Bazipora area. Additional details are expected as the search progresses.

The heightened security actions follow a series of deadly incidents, including a recent encounter in Udhampur district that claimed the life of an Indian Army soldier. The White Knight Corps confirmed the martyrdom in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating:
“Based on specific intelligence, a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched today in Basantgarh, Udhampur. Contact was established, and a fierce firefight ensued. One of our Bravehearts sustained grievous injuries in the initial exchange and later succumbed despite the best medical efforts.”

The fallen soldier is being hailed as a national hero, adding to the growing list of security personnel making the ultimate sacrifice in the region’s ongoing battle against terrorism.

These actions come just days after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 people, including one Nepali citizen, were killed in a brazen assault by terrorists reportedly disguised in military uniforms. The incident has led to an all-out security crackdown across sensitive areas in the Union Territory.

In response, the Indian Army and security forces have launched multiple search and cordon operations aimed at locating and neutralizing the perpetrators and their networks. The operations are part of a larger counter-insurgency strategy that includes intelligence-led strikes, border monitoring, and high alert status across all districts bordering Pakistan.

As India remains vigilant, officials stress that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of civilians and to bring justice to those affected by recent attacks.
